OPEN CALL Conversations / Vocal Performer (classical alt/tenor/baritone)
Conversations is a new music theatre production by Paul Boereboom and Leon Rogissart.
An immersive music theatre ritual for an intimate audience of 80 participants.
In a shared space, performers and audience move together through a collective experience of music, reflection, and encounter. The performance is participatory and interactive.
As a performer, you engage directly with the audience: you are not playing a character, but performing as yourself. Presence, attentiveness, and openness towards the participants are central to the work. The project explores themes of inner dialogue, presence, and collective ritual, and uses technology as a supportive dramaturgical layer rather than a dominant element.
For this project, we are looking for classical vocal performers (classical alt, baritone or tenor, f/m/x) to join an innovative international trajectory at the intersection of live performance, music, movement, and XR technology.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for vocal performers who:
_have a classical alt / baritone/tenor vocal range
_are comfortable with live performance and embodied presence
_enjoy participatory interaction with an audience
_have affinity with music theatre, contemporary music, and/or ritual practices
_enjoy collaborative, research-driven creation processes
What we offer:
For this season, the project includes 7 paid rehearsal days (dates to be confirmed, scheduled in April-May) and 2 paid performance days on the 24th and the 25th of May.
Additional performance dates in this - and subsequent seasons are currently on sale/
under negotiation and may follow.
The project is developed with multiple vocal performers. This approach ensures continuity of the performances over time and, more importantly, strengthens the artistic research. Working with different voices, bodies, and interpretations allows the work to deepen through comparison, exchange, and reflection, which is a core part of the artistic process.

Based on submissions, a selection of candidates will be invited to an audition on the 2nd of March in Rotterdam.
